Single Cask Nation MGP 12 Year Old Light Whiskey 750ML
Product Description
This bottling, distilled in June 2006, spent eight years in a first fill bourbon and was then finished for 4 years in a series of casks: ex-bourbon, ex-rye, and ex-IPA (which also previously held rye). It was then bottled at cask strength in May of 2019 at 54.1% ABV -- Batch 1 yielded 432 bottles.
Color - Fresh motor oil
On the nose - First impressions are of ground peppercorns and freshly opened cedar cigar boxes but delve further and you’ll find fruit gummies, candy necklaces, and orange essential oils
Flavors on the mouth - Tremendous viscosity delivering flavors of orange creamsicles, whipped cream, chocolate malts at the local diner, all framed by a delicate wood spice
Finish - So very long with wave upon wave of dark chocolate covered orange peels, fresh cracked pepper, and rye spice
On the label - Subtle and juicy with a lovely balance between wood spice and soft citrus. Hints of pepper keep things interesting while the creaminess of the whisky is a treat to the palate. Do your best to drink it responsibly!
