From the Distillery-
"In 1917, Great Grandpa Gustav arrived in Skane Township to begin farming some of the richest land on earth. Almost 100 years later, we built Far North Spirits, the northernmost distillery in the contiguous United States, here on the Swanson family farm just 25 miles from Canada in the northwest corner of Minnesota. After 20+ years away, we've returned to live a life that takes its cues from nature. Plant in spring, revel in summer, harvest in fall, reflect in winter. You know, farming.
Our spirits embody the best of every skill and bit of knowledge we've acquired over the years. Not only do we distill from start to finish, we hand select the seed varieties, plant and harvest all non-GMO grains, and carefully source the botanicals and spices. The field-to-glass farming model we're using is even older than Great Grandpa Gustav, dating back to before the country's founding. Farmers found that turning crops into whiskey was an efficient way of bringing them to market. They didn't spoil and were easier to transport. Not to mention, making whiskey was a helluva lot more fun."
